What is FashionMSP?
FashionMSP is a community-powered platform that connects, supports and elevates Minnesota's fashion ecosystem.
Rather than producing every event ourselves, we create opportunities for designers, producers, stylists, photographers, models, artists and brands to build meaningful experiences together.
Think of us as the infrastructure that helps great ideas become reality.
Is FashionMSP a fashion week?
No.
FashionMSP evolved from Minnesota Fashion Week into something much larger.
While runway shows remain an important part of what we do, FashionMSP exists year-round to support collaboration, education, production and community-led creative projects.
What does FashionMSP actually do?
FashionMSP focuses on four primary areas:
- Community-Led Projects, where members dream up and produce their own ideas.
- Brand Services, where companies hire FashionMSP to assemble creative teams from within our community.
- Community Directory, showcasing the incredible talent throughout Minnesota's fashion industry.
- Community Calendar, highlighting fashion events happening throughout the region.
Is FashionMSP only for runway fashion?
Not at all. We celebrate the entire creative ecosystem, including:

Who can join?
Anyone who wants to contribute positively to Minnesota's fashion community.
Whether you're an established professional or just getting started, there's a place for you.
Designers, photographers, models, producers, stylists, makeup artists, retailers, marketers, students and volunteers are all welcome.
Do I need experience?
Not always.
Some projects require experienced professionals, while others are designed specifically to help emerging creatives gain real-world experience.
Everyone starts somewhere.
How do I get involved?
The best place to start is our Discord community.
That's where ideas are shared, collaborators connect and community-led projects begin.
From there you can:

Is there a cost to join?
No. Joining the FashionMSP community is free.
Some special events or experiences may require tickets, but community membership itself does not.
What are Community-Led Projects?
Community-Led Projects are exactly what they sound like.
Someone from the community has an idea and invites others to help bring it to life.
FashionMSP provides the platform, visibility and community connection.
The people involved own the creative process from beginning to end.
Can I produce my own fashion show?
Absolutely. FashionMSP exists to help make that possible.
Whether your vision is a runway show, pop-up, installation, panel discussion or completely new experience, we'll help connect you with collaborators throughout the community.
Does FashionMSP own my project?
No. Community-Led Projects belong to the people creating them.
FashionMSP simply provides a platform that helps people find collaborators and bring ideas to life.
How are people selected for projects?
Every producer builds the team that's right for their project.
The directory simply makes it easier to discover talent across the community.
There is no single “inner circle.”
What is Brand Services?
Brands, retailers, nonprofits and organizations can hire FashionMSP to produce experiences on their behalf.
Instead of relying on one agency or production company, we assemble the right creative team from within our community.
This allows organizations to access incredible local talent while creating meaningful opportunities for community members.
Can my business hire FashionMSP?
Yes. We produce:

Every team is assembled specifically for the project.
How do I join the Community Directory?
Simply complete a profile.
You'll be able to upload your headshot, portfolio, bio, contact information and the roles you'd like to be considered for.
Once approved, your profile becomes searchable by brands, producers and collaborators.
How can my event be added to the Community Calendar?
Submit your event through our event form.
After a quick review, it will be added to the public calendar where others can discover it.
What are Community Stewards?
Community Stewards are individuals who have consistently invested their time, talent and energy into helping FashionMSP grow.
They aren't above the community.
They're simply people who have shown up over time and helped build the platform alongside everyone else.
As more people contribute consistently, this group naturally grows.
What happened to Minnesota Fashion Week?
FashionMSP is the evolution of Minnesota Fashion Week.
The mission expanded from producing a single annual event to building an ongoing platform where the entire community can create, collaborate and grow together throughout the year.
What is The Experiment?
The Experiment was FashionMSP's first large-scale community production and became proof that an entirely different model could work.
Instead of a single organization producing every experience, dozens of independent creators came together to imagine, build and operate their own activations under one shared vision.
It demonstrated that collaboration can create something larger than any one individual or organization could accomplish alone.
